Focus & Catch · Everyday Utility
Privacy Policy
In one line
Focus & Catch stores your game progress on your device. Google's Firebase (analytics, crash reporting) and AdMob (rewarded ads) collect anonymous usage and device data to help us improve the game and serve ads. We never ask for your name, email, location, contacts, or any account credentials.
Who we are
Focus & Catch ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile game developed and maintained by Everyday Utility. The App is distributed on Google Play under the package name com.game.focuscatch.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects when you use it, how that information is used, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at everydayapputility@gmail.com.
Information we collect
2.1 Data stored on your device
Focus & Catch saves your game progress locally on your device using Android's DataStore preferences system. This includes:
- Your personal best score
- Number of runs played
- Themes discovered
- Sound, music, and vibration preferences
- Total catches, best combo, and total grazes
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share a score card image via Android's system share sheet. It is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data in Android Settings.
2.2 Data collected by third parties
The App uses the following third-party SDKs, which collect data according to their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage data such as session length, screen views, and gameplay events (e.g., run started, run ended, new best) to help us understand how the game is used.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — anonymized crash reports, including stack traces and basic device information (model, OS version) to help us fix bugs.
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — serves rewarded video ads. Collects advertising identifiers and interaction data as described in Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.
2.3 What we don't collect
Focus & Catch does not ask for or collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
- Your location (GPS, network, or otherwise)
- Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data
- Browsing history outside the App
- Any other personally identifiable information
How we use information
The information described above is used to:
- Preserve your game progress and preferences between sessions
- Understand how players use the game so we can improve it
- Diagnose and fix crashes
- Serve rewarded video ads (only when you voluntarily tap "REVIVE" on the game-over screen — one per run)
- Reply to support requests you send us
Third-party services
The App integrates the following third-party SDKs. Their processing of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies, which we recommend you review:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics | Usage analytics | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) | Advertising | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
Advertising
Focus & Catch displays a rewarded video ad only when you voluntarily tap "REVIVE" on the game-over screen. Ads are served by Google AdMob. Google uses advertising identifiers to personalize ads.
You can opt out of personalized advertising on your device:
- On Android, open Settings → Google → Ads and enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
- Reset your Ads ID in the same menu to clear existing profiles.
For more information, see Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with anyone except:
- The third-party SDKs listed in Section 4 (as required for those services to function)
- If required by law, court order, or valid legal process
- Content you explicitly choose to share via Android's system share sheet (for example, a score card image sent to a friend via WhatsApp)
Data retention
- Local data on your device — retained until you uninstall the App or clear its data in Android Settings.
- Third-party SDK data — retained according to each provider's data-retention policy. See the links in Section 4.
Children's privacy
Focus & Catch is designed to be safe for players of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child under this age has provided us with personal information, please contact us at everydayapputility@gmail.com and we will investigate.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:
- Know what data is collected about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of certain data processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because Focus & Catch does not collect personally identifiable information directly, most rights requests should be directed to the third-party SDK providers listed in Section 4. For any request specific to Focus & Catch, contact us at everydayapputility@gmail.com.
Security
We rely on Android's built-in app sandboxing and encrypted DataStore to protect data stored locally on your device. Third-party SDKs implement their own security measures as described in their privacy policies. No system is 100 % secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
International data transfers
When you use the App, data collected by the third-party SDKs may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to such transfers as described in the respective SDK providers' privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be announced via an app update or in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
